There were 2 reservoirs with a capacity of 400 tons of water each in Bazum, since the times of the USSR. It was previously intended for drinking water, but it was never used for that purpose, and now the reservoirs were in a deplorable condition.

One of the reservoirs did not work at all, and the other was partially used due to its breakdown, as a result of which there was no possibility of storing water and it was not possible to carry out effective water resource management. As a result, most of the fields in the village with 1,800 inhabitants remained dry. Previously only about 10% of cultivated homesteads and arable lands were irrigated.

With this project, in addition to the repair of reservoirs, it is planned to build about 1,200m of new pipelines in order to irrigate about 40 acres of arid arable land. The repair of the pipe made it possible to increase the irrigated agricultural and domestic land areas to about 65-70% and will eliminate large water losses.

The pipeline renovation project amounted to AMD 9,004,000. The community contributed up to 30%. At the same time, the community members participated in the repair work free of charge.

The renovation of reservoirs and the construction of a new pipeline will make it possible to effectively manage water resources, increase green zones, and arable land, and contribute to the development of animal husbandry by having reservoirs.
