The students toured the agroforestry area, got acquainted with the tree species and planting scheme, and the drip irrigation system. Then, using the knowledge gained from the training, they dug and opened up tree trunks to facilitate efficient water use and prevent erosion.

The Shenavan agroforestry is the first in Armenia and was established under the “Agroforestry Restoration of 7 ha of Community Land in Shenavan” project implemented by the “Shen” NGO with funding from “A Tree for You”. And the courses on agroforestry are implemented with the funding of “Bread for the World” within the framework of the “The establishment and strengthening of agricultural cooperatives with the use of improved legislation and modern technologies” project.

With such initiatives, the “Shen” charitable non-governmental organization strives to contribute to the formation of practical skills of young people and promote environmental protection and community development.
