Promoting Sustainable Agriculture through Agroforestry: The Ackerbau(m) Project's Strategies and Findings

The topic of the next seminar on the Agroforestry seminar series held jointly by "Shen" NGO and Armenian National Agrarian University is "Promoting Sustainable Agriculture through Agroforestry: The Ackerbau(m) Project's Strategies and Findings."

The Ackerbau(m) project is a sustainable agriculture initiative led by the University for Sustainable Development in Eberswalde, Germany. The primary objective of the project is to promote agroforestry practices in Germany. The project encompasses two agroforestry test plots that feature a diverse range of trees and shrubs and an integrated study module. This module enables students to research the test plots and gain a comprehensive understanding of agroforestry practices. This seminar will provide an overview of the Ackerbau(m) project, including the latest research findings from the now five-year-old initiative.

The speaker of the seminar is Lea Martetschläger. She has been part of the team of the Ackerbau(m) project since 2021. In addition, she is pursuing a degree in International Forest Ecosystem Management at Eberswalde. Prior to and during her studies, she gained practical experience in various agroforestry projects located in Spain, Nepal, and Germany.

The seminar will take place via Zoom on June 13, at 15:00, at the AgriTech Incubator, ANAU. The language of the seminar is English, with simultaneous Armenian translation. Registration is online.
